Several factors could cause marital delay  in the life of single person; which areare written below
10 Reason for marital delay. According to the complete Christian dictionary, marital delay means the state of someone to put off to a later time in getting married.

(1) OVER SELECTIVE : one of the challenges in making choice is having so many options. The truth is that those experiencing marital delay now had many proposal and admirers when they are at the prime of their age and beauty (age 18-26). However they are too selective and particular about the shortcomings of those seeking for a relationship. This continue over time and they find themselves in the waiting list. Now the issue is that the young ladies are too selective and exploiting, and the men just refuses to come around they are too selective and exploiting. Don't just marry anyone who come your way but be careful of being too selective. 

SOLUTION: Don't be too selective when you want to choose the right partner. Ways to get the right partner is by communicating with God, how? By praying to him and listening  to him through reading the word of God. God tells you who he has chosen to become your husband or wife.Benefit of getting the right partner is that he or she becomes an help mate to achieving God's plan and ministry (destiny) for your life.

Reason  for marital delay (2) HIGH STANDARD; some still suffer late marriage not because they are not in their prime of age and beauty but because of the high standard they are,looking for. some of this standard are university degree,high standard of living, a good paying job in a repeatable organization, wealthy family background, top position in office or society, high level of spirituality_,tall and heavily built, long hair pointed nose and among other,which cannot be easily found in one person. This is one of the key problem causing delay marriage. 

Solution : If all you considered in getting your husband or wife is standard then you might be heading to picking the wrong person the main standard to check is if he  is God's  plan for you.

Reason for marital delay(3) :EXCESSIVE CAREER FOCUS ;

Excessive focus on one career building could cause delay in marriage. This person might not get a consideration until he or she attain the top of their chosen field and at that time their contemporary would have quit searching. Solutions: Focusing on achieving your career goal is good but considering the time value of that achievement is key. You need to adjust. (4) Tribal settlement: some people are maritally delayed because  they insisted on getting married to people only from their tribe. Most people who practice this are sometimes supported by their parents .

SOLUTION : we are one looking at tribe is not key.if your parent can't be convinced take it to God in prayer.

Reason for marital delay (5) :Delay in life achievement : Any delay in life achievement of a person may be a stumbling block to timely marriage. Early achievements to a set goal will aid early marriage. For instance a 30 years old man is stillstill an undergraduate and struggling to pay is fees, after graduating he spends years looking for job getting married will take a long time.

SOLUTION to delay in marriage: your life achievement must be timely in order to be achieved in time.Set a time frame.
(6) Financial incapability: financial incapability may be due to joblessness, loss of job, low income earning and can cause a setback for marital plan. It take money to get all wedding requirements ready. When there is no sign for financial readiness, the wedding will be put to hold.
SOLUTION 
You don't really need to spend a huge sum of money on a marriage it depend on your capacity or pocket. When you spend so much and you have less Left after the marriage what money do you use after to take care of your home, all you need do is to reduce expense.(7) ATTITUDE
Your attitude towards the people within your marriage circle determines whether you will get married early or late. Character such as anger, malice, lazy, dirty, superiority complex, over bearing, stubborn, etc. may repel suitors from you, except you drop them. 
SOLUTION: Bad attitude repels good while good attitude attracts. watch out for people's comment about you and make amends. 
(8) DEMONIC INFLUENCE OR CURSE:  There are young men and women who blossom in every area of life except their marital life. This may be due to a curse, spiritual husband or wife, bad marital family background or demonic assault .This assault may be peculiar to an individual or collective such that it may affect every member of the family. People who fall under this yoke may have experience many broken relationship.
SOLUTION: To people under this yoke, may God deliver you from his yoke. However, you in need to intensify your prayer and ho for deliverance. A spiritual battle needs spiritual weapon.
(9) EXCESSIVE WEIGHT: Young men with potbelly and women with excessive body weight  tend to look older than their age and this repels suitors.
SOLUTION:  Do something about your potbelly and engage ain activities that will help reduce some weight and make you look smart.
(10) COHABITATION: cohabitation is a situation whereby man and a woman who are not married but are living together and having a sexual relationship. This often cause negative spiritual effect of which one marital delay
